Each year there are more and more data coming out on how the Carolinas are among the best places to live. Let’s talk about the highest-ranking cities in the northern state.
Raleigh
Probably one of the most well-known cities in North Carolina, Raleigh is a central hub for technology, research, and healthcare. The Research Triangle is a prominent area in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. It is made up of the cities of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. It received its name due to the three universities North Carolina State University, Duke University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In 1950s, Research Triangle Park was created and is the largest research park in America. It is home to more than 300 companies. Many of these companies are in the high-tech industry, creating mind-blowing technology for the biggest and best explorations on the planet.
Outside education, the area is also known for its arts industries. Many subcategories branched off of the arts communities as well such as music scenes and craft beer industries of the area. Locals love their live music and it is a key player in the nightlife of Raliegh. The Pour House Music Hall and Record Shop is one of the community’s top spots. Downstairs is a vinyl record store and the second floor holds the venue with a full bar.
Charlotte
A large metropolitan area, Charlotte offers some of the best of the best when you are browsing for a new city to visit or move to. It is home to some of the nation’s largest financial institutions. Bank of America and Wells Fargo both have headquarters here. Charlotte is also home to several energy-based companies and is quickly growing into a prominent tech hub like its neighboring regions.
You may not be only concerned with where to work if you are looking at Charlotte houses to rent. Many folks move here for other reasons. Some people who make the trek are hoping to soak up the humid subtropical climate. Cool spring and fall, hot and humid summer, and mild winters are a draw for anyone who loves outdoor activities. This makes exploring the city during any season a breeze!
Charlotte is aware of how popular they are among tourists. There are several top-notch attractions such as Carowinds, Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary, and several State Parks. Additionally, if you love to golf, North Carolina is a prominent destination for all golf lovers. Wilmington
As the only beach city on the list, you can guess why folks love this region. Wilmington offers amazing beaches that are less crowded than those of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina or the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Trips to the beach become a normal routine for those who set up residency here. And its location is excellent if you do want to travel to the more popular beaches that we talked about above.
Like the other cities listed above, there are options for outdoor activities around every corner. With such great weather, people want to be outside exploring their town! Battleship North Carolina is an amazing attraction. It is a stationary military ship that you can explore and is suitable for the whole family. Airlie Gardens is another popular spot. You can join others on a guided tour, attend one of their bird walks, or just simply explore the grounds on your own.
